Tonight is a sad night. But it is also an amazing night. For me, a phenomenon that has been around almost my entire life is coming to an end. I think the best way to present this information is in timeline form, and so, let us begin.

1994 - I was born. So were many other people.

1997 - The first Harry Potter book - Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s (Sorcerer’s) Stone - was published.

June 1999 - The second Harry Potter book was released.

Sept 1999 - Third book is released. 

2000 - Fourth book released.

2001 - The year I read the first Harry Potter book. Others in my generation range around this time. The first movie came out this year also.

2002 - Second movie released

2003 - Fifth book released.

2004 - Third movie released.

2005 - Sixth book is released. Fourth movie is also released.

2007 - Fifth movie released. Seventh and final book released.

2009 - Sixth movie released.

2010 - Seventh (part one) movie released. 

July 15 2011 12:00 AM - Part two of the seventh movie, and also the final installment in the films is released to movie theatres. So ends the story of Harry Potter. 

July 31 2011 - Pottermore releases more information.

Harry is a part of my life. I grew up with him. And Hermione. And all the gingers. :P And now that era is ending. No more books. No more movies.

Tonight I go to see the final movie. I have heard grow men say that it made them cry. We shall see how I fair. It is an interesting night.
